Watermark Designs is proud to work with some of the most talented designers out there, and Jen Laurens of Tiny Anchor Studios is making waves as a design consultant in the Philadelphia area.

With more than 20 years of experience in the design and construction industry, Jen’s projects focus on the perfect finish, consistent style and visual impact. She pays close attention to kitchen and bathroom trends and is known for her commitment to service throughout every project.

We talked with Jen more about her work and how Watermark Designs has helped her enhance the great designs coming out of Tiny Anchor Studios.

Creating “Functional & Fun” Home Designs

Jen’s designs often focus on the busiest areas of today’s homes — the kitchen and bath spaces. “Kitchens and baths are where I put most of my energy,” she explains. “They are the parts of the home that clients are most passionate about, and as such, put a greater investment into.”

Jen has a passion for creating “functional and fun” home designs for her clients. Her time in the design and construction industry has made her a valuable partner in the remodeling and construction process with them, whether clients need a remodel or new bath space.

“Each step of my path emphasized the importance of measuring, materials and client input,” says Laurens. “I had a circuitous evolution as a designer. I began doing children’s spaces and nurseries, then moved on to work as a designer/fabricator/installer of window treatments. Eventually, I worked with a bespoke cabinet company — and finally on my own as a full-service interior design firm.”

Each Tiny Anchor Studios project is a reflection of the collaboration between Laurens and her clients, with whom she works closely to ensure the success of the design. The finishes and textures she chooses are intentional, and her spaces are known for their sophistication and design success.

Kitchen and Bathroom Trends + Tips

Jen’s attention to design detail in bath and kitchen spaces have earned her credit both in the design industry and among her peers. In addition to client projects, she has worked on Seasons One and Two of the DIY Network’s “Stone House Revival.” She is also a member of the NKBA, IFDA and serves on the board for NARI as membership chair.

She explains where she pulls inspiration from to create such impressive designs and successful spaces: “I love to travel with my family and often stay in quirky hotels or fun AirBnbs to see how others use design to evoke feelings.”

Laurens has a knack for finding inspiration everywhere and documents the designs that stand out to her. “I’ve been caught taking pictures of bathroom faucets on multiple occasions in public places. The Starbucks in Milan had a fascinating sink that has stuck with me, and I’m dying to replicate and honor it in some way,” she says.

Watermark fixtures and finishes have helped Jen achieve sophisticated bath and kitchen designs in her clients’ homes. “The clean lines and industrial edge make it an easy pairing for my projects, as that is the same aesthetic that I ascribe to.”

Jen works to create custom designs her clients will love, and she relies on high-performing, eco-conscious products to get the job done. “I have an immense respect for products made in America, and I love that Watermark is designed and crafted on our own soil,” she says. “Oh, and the environmental commitment is just the icing on the cake.”

One of her favorite projects to design was a client’s powder room, which features Watermark’s Elements collection. “The black walls, brass shimmering tile and a black and brass floor provided a stunning backdrop to the graceful lines of the Watermark faucet,” she says.

Partnerships in Design Success

“We believe the spaces we occupy have a profound impact on wellbeing,” Laurens explains on the Tiny Anchor Studios site. “From the very beginning of the process, our team focuses on understanding what drives you to translate your desire into designs for better living at home.”

Here at Watermark Designs, we share the same commitment to creating more functional spaces with high-quality finishes, and we’re proud to work with designers who have the same drive and creativity.
